| | The Lubbock County Jail is charged with the safety and well being of those individuals whom are committed to the facility and are either awaiting trial, discharge from a sentence, or transfer to another agency.
The Lubbock County Jail received its' last certification of compliance from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on September 18, 2009 indicating that the jail met the minimum jail standards set forth by the commission.
The Lubbock County Jail has a capacity of 795 beds and is staffed with 181 Lubbock County employees. In addition, the Jail employees contractual staff including medical, kitchen, and commissary personnel. The Jail supervisory staff is comprised of the Lieutenant, a Sergeant Major, Captain and Director of Operations. Each shift is staffed with a Sergeant and four Corporals for supervisory personnel. |

Pass a psychological and drug test
